converting raw dv

Hi All

I need help with converting raw dv video.

Someone recorded an hour of video for me on his mini dvd camcorder and then converted the video to fit on 1 dvd disc. I could see not difference between the quality of thr raw dv and the converted version. I then used video from the disc and edited and burned a final version.

I tried to do this myself. When I captured the video from camcorder to pc using pinnacle studio 10 instead of raw dv i chose mpeg2 but on mine there it a noticable loss of quality.

So my question is how do you convert an hour of raw dv to fit on a dvd disc with no noticable loss of quality?

Thanks

P.S I can't ask the person who originally did it as I don't have contact with him anymore

Re: converting raw dv

Sorted then??
Short answer
Dont capture as mpeg 2; Cappture as DV AVI then turn it into mpeg2 when you get to the stage of "Make movie" : you get a lot more control over output quality that way
