JVC Digital HDD Camcorder problem

Am struggling to get playback on my PC of video footage from the JVC GZ-MG50EK.

The files don't seem to play in media player or any of the other regular playback drivers.

I'm not familliar with the file format; is there any way I can convert them to play in media player?

They are MPEG2 files.. have you tried changing the filename from xxx.mod to xxx.mpg?

Hi

Thanks for the reply - I haven't done that will it should it make a difference, I thought that by changing the suffix the file would be unreadable?

Re: JVC Digital HDD Camcorder problem

The problem is that most playback (and editing) software doesn't recognise the .mod filename. Changing to .mpg should fix that (as long as you also have the codecs to play mpeg2 files).

It can't do any harm... you can always change the name back.
