Canons newer models

Another canon question.

Are the newer Canons i.e the Canon MD101 a bit better quality then the previous models or is it just that they have newar features such as extra optical zoom and an added mic input?

Plus have you found that the low light performance an improvement in any way?

Re: Canons newer models

Canon has put a mic input on their lowest model for some time now - previously it was the MV890/MV901.

The MD101 and MD160 pretty much replace the MV890 and MV930. The differences are small.

These models are not as good as some previous models like the MVX460.

Re: Canons newer models

Does the MVX460 have an external mic input? as I have read some reviews which have been very good.

Yes it does... and yes the MVX460 is/was a very good camcorder for the money. It was "camcorder of the year" according to camcorderinfo.com.

Re: Canons newer models

MVX450 gives the same quality as the 460 - it's the same camcorder except with the AV/DV input removed.
