Panasonic HDC SD3 software help

I have just got a Panasonic HDC SD3 from Japan, and unfortunately (should have guessed this one!) the software provided - HD Writer - is in Japanese! Needless to say I have no clue how to use it!!!

Is there anything else I can use or anyone know where I can get an English version of the software?

If not try the US consumer support site or Rosetta Stone teach your self Japanese

Not a UK model, and have tried to find it on various panasonic sites, but no luck. Only thing I can find is the vista upgrade and this complains that it is a different language to the software!!

It is an updated version of the HDC SD1 so hopefully the software is the same and someone can help me out.

The HD Writer software supplied with the SD3 is Ver.1.5J and at the moment, ie. until the cam is launched in Europe or US, is only available in Japanese.

I have ordered an SD3 so will be in the same situation soon. The software should not be that different GUI wise to ver. 1.0e so if someone could post some screenshots of the various HD Writer menus we could get by with the Japanese version...me thinks

EDIT: SD3 has arrived. One can get by with the Japanese software...Very basic, but English manual of HDWriter 1.0e would also help. Anyone have this ?

Try Ulead video studio 11 - spec suggests it supports HD SD Camcorders.

Hi all, new 2 forums so bear with me...I've recently bought on import from US a HDC-SD1, all was good, uploaded first full SD card, have tried 2 upload again...and error msg "DVD drive controller is unavailable.Restart theOS" Boy, have i restarted the OS!! No better, also re-installed HD writer, no help. DVD drive owrks just fine...any ideas? Also, took card from camera, placed in SD slot of my Panasonic TV, can't read video?? Any ideas? Am I just rubbish??
