Hi,
I have been looking into getting a HDD camcorder around the £400 mark and I have been looking through all the models that are available at the moment and I think going by the spec and price the JVC GZ-MG175 and Sony DCR-SR72E best fit what I am after.

The thing is that I cannot seem to find any reviews of either of them or the JVC GZ-MG155 and Sony DCR-SR52E smaller bothers of them. The thing I am looking for most is the hours storage in HQ and the Sony wins out on this because of the 60Gb HDD over the 40Gb HDD but I can not seem to find anyway of comparing the picture quality or usability of them.

Going on gut instinct I would go for the Sony as I think of it as a better brand but I don’t have anything to back this up and I seem to read mixed reviews of both there older models having iffy picture quality.

Any reviews or opinions would be helpful.

Dont know if this will help but I had the previous gen JVC MG 50 HDD and now have the Sony SR90 and the difference in build and PQ is very noticable in favour of the Sony.
The SR90 now superceded by SR190 ( I think ) has a larger CCD and Carl Zeiss T* coated lens which maintians image quality.
