Recharging a camcorder overseas...

Sorry if this has been asked before, a quick search didn't come up with any immediately helpful topics.

Basically, I'll be heading off to Japan for a few weeks in a few weeks, and I'd like to take some movies for the folks back home. Power outlets being what they are and all, I'd assume I'll need something special to allow it to charge through a foreign power source. Could anyone let me know what kind of adapter I'll need, and possibly where to buy it online? I'm in a remote area at the minute, so I can't simply pop into a shop and buy anything or ask the sales people about my problem.

Ah, and I'd also love any advice on not unexpectedly melting my camcorder (a Sony Mini-DV) or the like whilst over there!

Well, thanks in advance!

Most, if not all, can be plugged into any mains voltage. Your only concern is the type of plug you'll need - buy one of the universal adaptors and you'll be fine.

Cheers,

Martin.

As Martin says....

If you want to confirm this 100% for yourself, just read the fine print on your camcorder power supply. It will probably say something like 100-240 volts input, and 50-60hz.
