Sanyos HD1 HD1A & HD2 video editing question

Newbie here, would like to ask for assistance please.

I've discovered that Ulead's Video Studio 10+ will edit the raw Sanyo HD2 HD mp4 footage, but have noticed that the edited scenes are not as pristine as the original clips, showing jaggies and vertical shimmer.

In the Timeline you can switch from viewing the original separate clips to viewing the project ( all of the clips running in sequence with fades, dissolves etc. ) and its when you run the project that the poorer video is seen.

Please could some-one advise how I could change the format to a near HD quality avi? Divx? or whatever format that would not be so hard on PC resources?

Is there a software ( format changing ) programme out there that can do this easily? I am a complete novice to all of this.
Failing that, can any-one advise what the likely reason is for seeing a poorer image when the footage has been edited?
TIA. Thomas.

What you are seeing is a real time preview of your edit. I don't use Video Studio, but with all editing software this real time preview is an approximation of what the edits will look like. There are often various quality levels you can choose as well. Just because it doesn't look great in preview doesn't mean that the final output will be bad when you render your output file.

Re: Sanyos HD1 HD1A & HD2 video editing question

Thanks Mark,

That very thought came to me this afternoon. I guessed that the edits were being made on the fly, and so may look better when just viewed after finalising.

Thanks again, Thomas.
