Sanyo HD2 playback sound mutes between clips, do HD1 /1A camcorders do the same ?

I have just tried out the new Sanyo VPC-HD2 SD card camcorder. All looks great so far but I noticed that the playback sound mutes at the end of each clip whilst the last frame freezes and is then replaced by the first frame of the next movie clip which is also silent for a second until the date time re-appears and the action moves again.

Basically the first frame of each clip is on screen for a second ( no sound ) until the scene rolls, and the last frame of the clip freezes and is on screen for a second with no sound until replaced by the next scene's first 'freeze' frame.

Is there a work-around ( menu option ? ) to stop this, apart from editing each scene on a PC to top and tail the shots.

TIA. Thomas.
