Codec WMV Divx Compressing for Media Center

Hi
i use Ulead 10 for editing, instead of going to create a DVD i store all my files as 'wmv' as i only ever watch them on the computer or media center.

Whats the most efficient way of creating a "wmv" result after creating my movie? just created a good one using 'winavi' direct from a 2gb avi and the result was 800mb plus, (way too big) then exported direct to "wmv" from ulead 10 and ended up with a 60mb result, not as good quality but watchable.

Whats the easiest way? Need it to be full screen 720 x 576? I am interested to know how you guys create your files, i can't be the only person with this problem.

thanks in advance.

peter

Re: Codec WMV Divx Compressing for Media Center

I have used Canopus Procoder/ Express in the past but find that Windows media encoder ( when I can figure it out suffices)

Otherwise I simply use Sony vegas 7 or Avid liquid 7 to render the edit straight to WMV when desired , especially for HDV for PC playback at full resolution
