Miniature HD cameras, do they or their components exist?

Hi all,

Im trying to find a miniature HD camera that can record onto a solid state memory, do they exist already?
I know of the Sanyo Xacti range but these are still too large, does anyone know if there are any smaller ones?
Is there anybody out there who could help me strip a Sanyo Xacti down to its component parts so as to make it even smaller?

Alternatively, does anybody know if there are separate components that one can buy in order to make their own miniature HD camera? I know you can buy board cameras up to around 400 lines but can you get them with even higher resolution?

Thanks for your time, please contact me at JMichaelson2005@hotmail.co.uk if you can help.

Cheers

James

What are you trying to do ? Even the Xacti doesn't really hit it off as a great HD camera (the newer HD2 may go somewhere towards this). I read somewhere about a tiny cam designed for helmet mounting (extreme sport use), if you do a search something might come up.

Re: Miniature HD cameras, do they or their components exist?

Hiya

Thanks for the reply. I am trying to reduce a camera similar to an Xacti so that it can fit on a helmet. i want it so that it sits flatly on top, rather than on the side, and this will require it to be taken apart and the components realigned so that it is a linear camera, rather than a vertically orieneted camera.
Do you think you can help me or know of someone who would like to have a crack at rebuilding an xacti in a linear orientation?
Please reply to me at Jmichaelson2005@hotmail.co.uk

Thanks

James
