Hi,

I have been filming bands quite a bit with my panny nv-ds150 and have decided its time to buy an external mic and attach it to holder on the hotshoe. I dont want to spend big bucks but need to capture the 'live gig' sound a bit better.

Plugging into the sound desk is no good because I cant move around the venue.

Anyone got any suggestions ?

The 2 (or 3 ) normal suspects are:
The SENNHEISER MKE300 or the 300D that has aditional shielding and is recommended for digital camcorders but costs a fair bit more.
Or the Rode Videomic.

The above linked sites are just the first ones I found the mics on via a Google search. I suggest you do a bit of searching around to get the best possible prices if buying.
