Re: sony-user

Im a little confused by your query

Camcorders do not have a Burn button
Even DVD camcorders which "Burn" video footage to disc on the fly as you record only require you to finalise the DVD for universal playback compatibility

Your camcorder records video to miniDV tape .This is a real time complex electro-magnetic process which doesn't involve any burning.
You need to connect the camcorder to your PC with a firewire cable to enable transfer of the video data on tape to the PC. This process , called capturing is not a simple copy as the ( large amts of) data on tape is "streamed" at a high speed to your PCs HDD

The PC will usually have a program that allows this transfer although Windows Xp via Windows Movie Maker can do this. This is also true of most Video editing Programs.

Win DV is a free utility which can also help

For the video on the tape now on PCs HDD to become a " burned" DVD is another process entirely
