Question Which camcorder should I get ? Will be use for...

Hi

Thanks for looking at my post =)

I'm looking for a camcorder as I want to make some vids of me drumming. Idially i'de like to be able to plug my shure sm57 mic/s into it to get decent sound. I'de also like to capture stills with it and transfer the vids/stills to my pc. A rechargable battery pack would be good as well, it would need to capture and stores at least an hour of footage + sound as well.

I've found some on ebay which are cheap as I'de like to spend the least amount possible but will go to £150 if it makes a huge difference as opposed to the £70 ones.

Any advice ? Any on ebay.co.uk or .com which are suited to me and a good deal ?

Thanks in advance !
Mike

It's hard to answer as I'm not sure what you can get on ebay for that money. The condition of the camcorder will be as important or more important than the specific make/model.
Consumer camcorders don't have XLR mic inputs, and many don't have mic inputs at all, though some have minijack inputs. If you don't mind unbalanced audio you can use a plug adapter, or you can use something like a Beachtek but that will add to your cost.

Hi thanks for your replies, I think i'll get a cheap one and use a xlr to mini jack adapter and get unblanced sound, than mix it a little on pc.

Cheers
