Help problem with Sony Handycam

to everyone.........I'm looking for some expert advice.

My name is Fuzzydon and I have a Sony Handycam, just over two year old and only been used 5 times ...............went to video a wedding last friday and it would record but when played back I have grey lines over the image and the images are distorted. Found on the web that heads may need cleaning so £10 later , still the same problem...........nothing in the hand book, nothing on Sony site, even emailed them and no reply. can someone help me, it's so frustrating even more so as it's hardly been used and is now out of warranty.

http://www.sony.co.uk/view/ShowArtic...site=odw_en_GB

was given this link, but not sure if it applies to my handy cam (DCR-HC18E) as all i'm getting is the prob when i view the video taken.

Would really appreciate any thoughts Thanks

Re: Help problem with Sony Handycam

Your camcorder is listed in the link you provided, so it could be the known CCD fault.
Do old recordings play back ok on the cam? If they do then I would say there is a very good chance that the fault lies with the CCD and therefore you should be able to get the repair done free

Mark.
