On Line Editing?

I have some .avi clips that I want to publish on my website. I know very little about video but I think the clips could be enhanced to give maximun quality. Does anyone know if there is such a thing as online editing and if so can you give me the address of a good one? thanks

Also I dont know how to change the settings on an .avi file. I made an .avi file through Pinnacle Studio and saved it to my desktop- but can I now try to enhance it, picture quality and sound? thanks

I have read of some a site where you can upload you video and edit online but I

felt it was a gimmick and cant recall it now.
However if you have a reasonable NLE software on your PC it is infinitely better

as you retain control at your own pace in your own time. I image the online

ones cannot really allow you tie up thier bandwidth

Im assuming the AVI you made is a DV AVI , not an Mpeg4 ( Divx, Xvid ect)
Divx is not really an editable format ( as such) and is meant to be viewed
If it was an mpeg4 , you are best off going back to the project, outputting as DV

AVI then only save in another format when you dont think you need to edit it

any more

If it was a DV AVI and you made it thru Pinnacle Studio and saved it to your

desktop you can just as easily re-import it back Into Pinnacle Studio for

editing to enhance sound qaulity colour ect
Instead of going thru capture, you go straight into the edit movie section,

chose the movie clip tab and then click on the folder icon. This allow you to

navigate your PC to use any Supported video file on its HDD/s.

Re: On Line Editing?

thanks Senu, yes its a DV AVI , I dont think the original footage is that great but I've tried using Pinnacle to enhance but doesnt seem to make much difference.

Would there be any chance that I could send you the 1 min clip through 'YouSendIt' to see if you could do anything with it? I would need an email address to send it to you. all the best

Re: On Line Editing?

While it's very easy to reduce the quality of video it's not so easy to go the other way.

FYI online editing in 'TV speak' is the process of editing/finishing a programme at the highest resolution possible. It dates back from a time when there was 'offline' editing, normally a rough cut using VHS/U-Matic/BVU type equipment at little cost followed by spending the shortest possible amount of time in an expensive edit suite to do the online work.
