hi,

I bought my wife a dp361 for christmas and was immidiatly dissapointed with it. the battery lasted about five minutes, there is a constant white spot in the middle of the screen noticble in the lcd and when connected to the tv ant the footage is blurring most of the time.

I realize that for the £150 spent I am not going to get broadcast quality, but i did expect a little better. We are going to return the camera today, can anyone recommend a suitable replacement even if we have to spend a little more.

Samsung does not make good camcorders (though yours sounds it may be faulty as well). Regardless I'd swap it for the Canon in a heartbeat.

a quick update for any that are interested.

returned to currys yeterday, half an hour later walked out of the shop with panasonic gs27, what a difference!! it knocks spots of the samsung.

gs27 is another good choice.
