Question purchase of Canon - Confused - Help!!!!

It would seem from all the reviews outside the forum and advice on it. If I am looking for an entry level Mini DV CC for under €300 (euro, I am in Ireland) with good video picture, average indoor lighting and the SD card still capabilities of a cheap digital camera. Canon is the leader?
I am replacing a Sony DCR-TRV19 that I liked, but no SD and not really a still camera, poor low light also, although I hear most Mini DV cams share this problem?)
My problem is, all the models and confusion between US and European models. There are ZR, MV, and Elura models. The best review (in my budget) seems to be the Elura 100, but is this only a US model?
Can someone help recommend the best (as described above) for my budget, and maybe recommend where I can purchase it with delivery that won’t cost an arm and a leg to the ROI.
Thanks for your help, John in Wexford ROI.

Elura 100 = MVX460. An excellent camcorder for the money, but costs £300 plus change, not 300 Euro.

Cheaper and still decent are the MV890/930/960 (These map to the ZR range). The 930 and 960 have a SD card.

Thanks I am going with the Elura 100 - I can get it here in Ireland with that product name

pluss it is only €321.43 (you are sure the 100 is the MVX - 460, if so I guess this is a great deal then?)

Re: purchase of Canon - Confused - Help!!!!

Elura 100 does map to MVX460 in Europe. The Elura 100 is the US (NTSC) model. That link shows pricing in dollars and links off to amazon.com in the US. The price is cheaper due to the US price being cheaper, and does not include VAT. You will be liable to VAT if you bring it into Ireland; as well as paying the international shipping cost. And then you'll have a NTSC camcorder rather than a PAL one.
