8mm to digital - where, for reasonable price

Hi there,

i have a few (less than 15) analogue 8mm and VHS that I wanna conserve/convert into digital files. How best to do it w/o breaking bank (going to a specialist) or cutting wrists (i tried Pinacle hardware and software and after a year of unsuccsessful night-long failed conversions gave-up).

There are several options for getting analogue video onto a PC for burning to DVD discs, or you can just use a standalone DVD recorder. There is more info on what you can do and as to how good the options are in This thread.
