Rendering times

Not sure if I have a problem. Rendered projects before using basic editing software. Using Vegas 6 for the first time, and trying to render an 80 minute project to mpeg2 ready to create a DVD. Numerous effects so expecting a fairly long render time. It seems to be working in that it is slowly moving along the project, but its been going for 36 hours now, and only 60% through the project, with an estimated finishing time sometime tomorrow morning (the 27th December). Is this normal? Using a 3gig processor, 1 gig of ram, on a rock pegasus laptop. Thanks in advance.

Re: Rendering times

It all depends on the effects, but that is a very long render with that machine. What kind of effects are you doing?
