Are there any 3 CCD camcorders around £300-£400 that are recommended,

I believe the only 3 CCD camcorders in that price range are the Panasonic GS180 and GS300.

They are both good, the GS300 significantly better.

Can get the GS300 for under £400 here

I have been having a look and come up with either the GS300 or the Sony HC96. The Sony had true widescreen and will be better in low light due to a bigger chip but the Panny is rated a bit better overall.

I agree with your assessment... I didn't mention the HC96 as it isn't a 3 CCD camcorder.
