looking for a carry case for Canon MVX460

Hi
ive just ordered the camcorder and i assume it wont come with a carry case?
Can someone recommend which one to get?

Will this one fit...

I have the same camera, but mine came with a hama case as part of the deal, (and a tape) The camera is very small so I'd imagine it'd fit in most cases!

IMO your best bet is to get the cam first and then take it along to a shop such as Jessops and try a few cases. Decide what else you want to go in the case, ie charger, spare battery, tapes etc. Only by trying the case will you know if it fits, and fits without too much room so it could move around and get damaged.

i know that would be the best idea but i cant stop myself buying stuff for it already. ive bought a HAMA DFV60 case.

i forgot to ask, do i need to buy a firewire cable to transfer my captured videos to the pc? if so which type of cable do i need?

Yes, you need a firewire cable.

On the camcorder end it is 4 pin. On the PC, probably 6 pin (if it is similar width to a USB port (but fatter) that is 6 pin. If it is small and the same size as on the camcorder it's 4 pin.

Any cable/brand will do... I'd try to get a brand you know; some of the cheap generic cables seem to break/fail.
