I'm planning to buy camcorder for my boyfriend, my budget is around £250. I found in amazon.co.uk for Sony DCR-HC35 is £207, which is great, but I realised there is a newer model, which is DCR-HC35E, and the price is £257, does anybody know what's/are the difference(s) between these two?

DCR-HC35E is the European model (which includes UK). All Sony's European/UK models have the E on the end. In the case of the HC35, I think this is a European only model anyway (in other areas it is the HC36).

The thing is often it is listed without showing the "E". Amazon.co.uk only sells UK stock, so you are safe there. And in fact if you scroll down on the Amazon page for the HC35 you will see under "Product Detais":

Item model number: DCRHC35E

So don't worry - they are the same, you can get it from Amazon and save...

Mark, you are a star, thanks. I almost bought the DCR-HC35E in Amazon, just because I thought it was the newer model. I'm glad I've registered to this forum before I ordered one, I saved £50!
