same one at John Lewis is £ 329 !! Have phoned to see if they can price match.

I don't have one...
It is comperable in quality and cost to the Canon MV930. If you plan to shoot widescreen I'd give the Canon the edge as it shoots native widescreen and has a widescreen display. The GS37 doesn't have a widescreen display.. it is unclear if it is native widescreen but I suspect not. Other than that they are similar, so if you don't care about widescreen the GS37 is fine.
