Transfer problems

Hi there...

I've been having problems transferring from my JVC GR-D32U to my computer. I'm running XP SP2. The computer recognizes the camera, will allow me to control the camera via the play/pause etc onscreen but when I go to actually capture, it captures 5 kb and stops. The camera keeps playing but there is no capture.

I've tried this on two computers and it's the same problem. Any ideas? Thanks!

Re: Transfer problems

1. Are you using Firewire to connect? or USB
2. What capture software are you using, something good like Adobe Premiere I hope?

Re: Transfer problems

It's a firewire connection... no problems with the port according to windows.

I've used MS Moviemaker, Adobe and this 'Sonic' software that came with the computer. All three give errors yet it tries to capture and only gives the error once the user hits stop. There's no preview either.

I dont know if this will help but on all capture programs it gives you an option to chose which Capture device. Select Microsoft compatible, i think the other is VDM drivers.

Re: Transfer problems

I select AVC Compliant device since that's what comes up when I plug my camera in. The only other device is my web cam. Since it's a firewire connection, it should be all automatic.

Anyone got some other ideas?? Thanks for the replies so far. This is most frustrating....

Re: Transfer problems

Only thing i can think of that will help is changing your capture program, i know for sure not all capture programs work on my camera whatever settings you use.

Try windv its free at : http://windv.mourek.cz/

it should work if it doesnt try something like pinnacle trial version just to find one that works.
