Sony HC22E Camcorder Easy HandyCam Mode

When I place this camcorder into Easy HandyCam mode, the tape setting (SP or LP) goes to SP, the Red Recorder light (if set to off) reverts to On and the Camcorder always switches off after 5 mins, even if set to NEVER switch off.

Is this a fault or just a pain when you enter the Easy HandyCam mode.

They may be other setting that reverts in this mode.

Porto.

Re: Sony HC22E Camcorder Easy HandyCam Mode

This is the way "Easy" mode works. It doesn't let you change most of the options, and all the options which you can't change are set to their defaults.

It is by design. If you care about your options you don't want to use Easy mode...

Per page 63 of the manual:

"Settings change diring Easy Handycam operation

During Easy Handycam operation, the settings of the functions that are not displayed on the screen return to their defaults. Previously made settings are restored when you cancel the Easy Handycam operation"
