Sony HC-3 - How's the viewfinder?

I was almost ready to go for the Sony HC-3, however after reading a few reviews, I feel that I need to ask owners how they find the colour viewfinder?

It seems as though its built into the camcorder with no extension, change of angle or anything!!??

I have a Sony Digital8 that has both an LCD and a viewfinder, but find myself almost exclusively using the viewfinder and its always too bright to see the LCD well. This looks a difficult task with the HC-3.

Re: Sony HC-3 - How's the viewfinder?

It's pretty rigid - in fact it doesn't move a milimetre.

However using the viewfinder only saves about 10 minutes of battery life and the screen is the best I've seen. Even with the sun behind it's viewable.

On the rare occasion I'd need to use it, it's fine. If however you depend on it for everyday shoots, it could be better were it angleable (if that's even a word).
