Pinnacle 10.5 HDV Problems? (Sony HC3)

Having a play with Pinnacle Studio 10.5 which supposedly supports HDV, but as soon as I switch to HDV in the capture menu, the aspect ratio greys out and becomes unchangable. It sticks at 4:3 and there is no way I can see to change it to 16:9.

Soon as I then start capturing, it bombs out due to a "aspect ratio change"... (Because the camcorder is pumping out 16:9 as normal).

Anyone seen this before?

strange one,i use 10.5 titanium edition because for me its easy and does most things i want to do with my hc1e i just go to settings on capture then hdv and hdr-hc1e camcorder shows up for capture.if iwant to capture from my 2100 i go to settings and dv video.i have never tried to burn a dvd from a hdv project as i am not sure how[pretty thick]one thing i wont bother doing again is an upgrade as going to 10.6 caused all my projects to lose there sound on the origional track[not music]if i went on a particular project,so 10.6 was taken off and 10.5 put back, sorry i cant be of much help to you.

Fixed it. Complete reboot and replugging of everything in - then go to project options and set manually to 1080i HDV 50fps. It now describes it as 4:3 in settings but records at 16:9.

It is possible to view it as 16:9 during editing though by right clicking and selecting : Aspect ratio 16:9.
This merely changes the way Studio displays it and doesnt relate to how it was taken or how it will be outputted

PS: Studio has a 10.7 ( beta ) patch Im not sure how this improves the performance re: upgrading but the upgrades are meant to improve not worsen user experience. However if it aint broke.....

You can burn a Mini HD-DVD onto normal DVD from HDV material but not with Studio as it doesnt have the authoring tool to do so.
Thie MiniHD-DVD can however only play on an HD DVD player. Otherwise you can of course Downconvert in-camera to SD to make a "normal DVD ( Im sure you knew that) or make a WMV-HD DVD playable on PC with a guide : Windows Media Encoder ( Series 9)
