It is possible to view it as 16:9 during editing though by right clicking and selecting : Aspect ratio 16:9.
This merely changes the way Studio displays it and doesnt relate to how it was taken or how it will be outputted

PS: Studio has a 10.7 ( beta ) patch Im not sure how this improves the performance re: upgrading but the upgrades are meant to improve not worsen user experience. However if it aint broke.....
You can burn a Mini HD-DVD onto normal DVD from HDV material but not with Studio as it doesnt have the authoring tool to do so.
Thie MiniHD-DVD can however only play on an HD DVD player. Otherwise you can of course Downconvert in-camera to SD to make a "normal DVD ( Im sure you knew that) or make a WMV-HD DVD playable on PC with a guide : Windows Media Encoder ( Series 9)
