Anyone got a copy of What Camcorder?

Hi guys,

I need to buy a camcorder quite urgently as my wife is expecting a baby in the next few weeks. I've been searching high and low for a copy of a What Camcorder type rag without success. I don't have the time nor inclination to spend ages seeking out the perfect tool for me and so was intending just to buy a What/which camcorder 5 star/best buy recommendation.

Could anybody help me with the above? I'm looking in the sub £500 category and really around the £300 mark.

Many thanks

Thanks Jay. I'm sure I've kept an eye out for any such type of mag, I've found all the ones for tvs/home cinema/pcs etc but not camcorders. Don't suppose you'd have a copy from the last few months?

Thanks Jay. Could you throw a few other best buys/gold award winners from the magazine at me? ( £300ish range ). I remember when I did have a copy of the mag there were a few JVC ones that did well.

Re: Anyone got a copy of What Camcorder?

Was this a special JVC issue, or do they really think the 4 best camcorders are JVC?

Personally I put much more stock in camcorderinfo.com's reviews, even if you do have to translate US to UK models.

On the JVC DR- 340, "Digital Video Techniques" gave it 6 out of 10...

Canon mvx460 is a good choice though...

Re: Anyone got a copy of What Camcorder?

No Mark but as Indus showed a preference towards JVCand a price range not to mention some urgency I selected those. I'd already mentioned the Canon460 and the website. Not quite sure on the Protocol for quoting Mag reviews . Personally I went on your advice and researched Camcorderinfo before I made a purchase.

Ok - I see. I'm not sure what the protocol is either...
