After a program which can do all the above, and handle YUY2 AVI files, both SOny Vegas and Ulead Media Studio fails in this department, need to be able to crop from a specified resolution..eg, source video file is 720*480 but want to crop it from 640*480 to say 568*468 and then output it at 568*468..., if you use windows media encoder you know what Im talking about, trouble is media encoder cannot merge video, nor does it have a good clipping facility, so anyone know a program which would work for me?..

Premiere , After Effects , Combustion , Fusion , Nuke , Shake in order of increasing preference .The avi format capability is usually down to codecs available on the machine rather than any specific software incompatability.
