What standard Camcorder to Match 8' projector screen etc.

Hi Chaps,

I'm already kitted out with a fairly decent AV set-up (Marantz 9600 dvd, Themescene Projector, 8' screen) running on 1080i or 1080p most of the time.
Picture Quality is superb.
The DVD & PJ connect via HDMI, but the Dvd also has firewire.

Question is, what sort of standard of Camcorder do I need to give image quality that will project up to 8' - is it an isssue?

Not looking for professsional results but by the same token I would like 'touring' type footage to look decent at that size.

DVD would be first choice of format as presumably I can just play via the Marantz?

With a high-def projector I'd go for a HD (High Def) camcorder. Today these are tape (e.g the Sony HC3). Soon there will be HDD and DVD based models coming out as well. But I don't think your existing DVD player will play these DVDs as they use a new H.264 based format.

Buy a HD camcorder today, and you can watch HD either by connecting the camcorder directly, or create PC based files you can play from a PC. Soon you will be able to author HD DVDs (Blue-Ray or HD-DVD). Actually I think you can author HD-DVD today, but only a few players available.
