Differences between Sony HC44 &HC46?

Hi all

Just want a quick summary of the differences between these 2 models.

Want a Camcorder for a beginner and from reading loads of posts I gather either of these are safe bets.

Want Mini DV and good optical zoom / picture quality but apart from that open to suggestions.

Want to order tonight.

The 46 has input ports so you can record onto your Mini DV from other soures.

I was tusseling betwen the 94 and 96 recently and settled with the 94 as I couldn't really see when I would use this facility.
