DECISION TIME!!! Sony DCR-HC19 / JVC GR-D390 / Canon MVX460 OR Sony HC44!?

After reading through all of the threads in this section, I have narrowed my options down to these cams.

The first Sony and JVC were ones that I noticed had good reviews in a magazine I was reading lunch time, although haven't noticed them mentioned on here.

Can anyone help me with my final decision please!?

Thank you in advance - and thank you Senu for your earlier reply in my other thread

Just noticed the SONY DCRHC19 is only £149.99 in Argos's sale - if anyone thinks this is the better out of the ones I've mentioned?

Still confused!

Optical zoom is quite an important thing to have, is it not?
Yet the HC44 which appears to be popular with a few on here has x12, where as the Canon has x20 and the JVC (which no one has mentioned) has x32.
Or are they something which you wouldn't take strongly into account when deciding?

Everyones needs are different. The importance of the zoom dependson what you will use it for, ie a birdwatcher will want a good zoom, a general family cam may not need it.

If I was you Id go into a shop and play with them. If you have a dv tape try them to see how they differ. I looked at the sony hc and the canon mvx. Both very good but in the end it came down to personal choice of how easy they were to use
