Problem with my JVC GR-DX97 - please help!!

Hi Guys
My GR-DX97 has just gone mental on me! It has been working fine up until yesterday. When I turned it on it was a white out on the lcd display & through the viewfinder, then after a while it changed to verticle coloured lines!! see attached pic. Ihave done nothing different but I can't seem to rectify it. the image is the same through the viewfinder too.
Please help!

Charge Coupled Device: one of the two main types of image sensors used in digital cameras. When a picture is taken, the CCD is struck by light coming through the camera's lens. Each of the thousands or millions of tiny pixels that make up the CCD converts this light into electrons. The number of electrons, usually described as the pixel's accumulated charge, is measured, and then converted to a digital value. ...
