burning dvd question

I have recently completed a project using Premiere Elements 2 and had trouble exporting to dvd and I wanted a back up so I eventually exported to Folder. I now have these files in a folder and want to know if anyone can tell me step by step now how to burn this DVD. I have Nero.

My dvd is about 20 minutes long and I created the dvd menu in PE2 will all this be kept and how do I do it please, I am new to DVD burning as I have only just got a dvd writer.

Thanks

Your dvd folder should have two files video file and audio file. In the audio file there is nothing and in the video file is all the VOB files and others need to make a dvd.

So the process is DV AVI captured from your camera, then edited in Elements and then encoded by Elements to MPGEG2 file and authored to a DVD file.

With Nero you have to open Nero Express and chose make dvd file. Press Add and highligh the video/audio file created from Elements and burn them to disk.

Very Easy.

Nero Express tries to simplify the burning process by using wizards nice but I seldom use it
Nero Vision is Neros DVD authoring program.

To explain further, the video_ts folder produced by Elements contains VOB, ifo and bup files
The vob files ( video object) are the actual video files and are just renamed mpeg2 files to conform to the DVD standard otherwise settop DVd players will not recognise them.

This is what makes the difference between a DVD Rom with mpeg files burnt as data (DVD rom) and a "proper" DVD video disc

If using Nero Vision ( or Nero express) you only need the Vob files: you can then make a menu if you wish

However you can also use the main Nero program ( Nero burning rom) . Chose DVD, select DVD video , new

It will then open a window with 2 sides. the right will have the usual explorer window and the left will have 2 folders, video ts and audio ts.
Ignore the audio ts and then to your right, find the DVD folder created in Elements from within the explorer window . Open the video ts folder within it and copy all the files there . Paste them in the video_ts folder on your left window. you are now ready to burn a DVD
If you do it right there wont be a message saying the "DVD video has failed compliance test".
All the files should be copied as the IFO files and bup are navigational files which allow the menu to work.
then burn
Your DVD should then burn ok
You shouldnt really need Nero Vision unless you want to make a menu or add more to your video in which case you only need the vob files

Clear as mud ...eh?
