Adobe Premier elements 2 not responding

Using adobe premiere elements2 I have an Adobe tutorial disc when working on the file which is avi its fine till I try to switch to the dvd page everything just hangs then and its program not responding time. The file is only about 350mb. Anyone know a solution. If I export the file as mpeg and then try to go to the dvd page its fine
