JVC Repair time

My JVC camcorder has suffered the common "lens cap" error.

I need it for a holiday soon so was wondering if anyone had sent their JVC camcorder in for repair to an approved service centre and how long did it take to come back?

Cheers.

That will very much depend on the individual Service Centre. They should be able to get the parts within 1-2 days.

Where are you? I might be able to point you at the JVC Digital ASC.

BTW, if your camera is out of guarantee, JVC will still cover it but you need to get authorisation from them first.

Thanks GaryB.

I just managed to get a phone call and letter into JVC before the year was up, but as you say the lens cap issue is covered anyway.

When I spoke to JVC they said my warranty claim was at the stage of a letter coming out to tell me which repair shop to contact.

So are all AVC's the same? Do some repair on the premises and some return to a more central service centre? I need the camcorder fixed fairly quickly either way.

I'm in Norwich.

All of the JVC Digital ASCs carry out their own repairs. As you are in Norwich, you will probably be referred to Sontec.
