Exclamation Please, Need help quick! PANASONIC "NV-MX1" or the "NV-DX 110"

Hey guys, first of all, i should tell you, that this is my first hour on this Page, i found the forum/homepage when i was searching for some info at google.

This leads to that ive been searching alot for info/facts about these two Cameras, but i havent reached any conclusion wich one i should purchase.
I'am mostly "Hobby-Filming", though i have no doubt that i want to keep filming and learning new things in the rest of my life .
I want to be able to catch fast movements with the camera and knowing that theres no doubt that the camera will "hang with".

So guys, could you give me some quick + and - about these two cameras?

Cheers lads & ladies see you around !

These are both quite old models (the DX110 was 1999, the MX1 2001), so I assume you are buying used? In which case the conditions of the camcorders is probably the most important thing.

Looking at the specs of the camcorders... the DX110 looks better as it is a 3 CCD machine, it also has DV-in (which the MX1 doesn't).

Here is an old thread (from 2002) where the DX110 is discussed
buying a first/best pro-ish dv camera

According to the manual, the MX1 has a single 1/3.8" CCD.
The DX110 has three 1/4" CCDs.

Links to both manuals:

DV-in means: You can edit on the PC and then output the edited video in DV format back out to tape.

i didnt really get you there, sorry.. guess its my bad english
Do you mean that the 110 suports "Batched file system" ?.. Like, you first import a very bad uncut quality movie, that you edit and cut it, then you import the same uncut movie, but in very good quality, and it get cutted automaticly?

No - what I meant was:

You capture the video from the camcorder to your PC. You then do your normal editing. Now you want to render (apply the changes) and create an edited video. How do you do that? If you are going to create a DVD only, then you can do that and you don't need DV-in. But if you want to save your video on DV tape (in DV format) then you need DV-in.

Before the days of DVD, DV-in was very important; as it was the main way to create an edited video. Now with DVD as the primary format for delivery it is less important - though I still like to save a copy of the edited video in the original DV format.

I hope that is clearer!

Yes, exactly. With DV-in you can save to your camcorder tape, otherwise you can not.

Look in the menu for the sound volume option , quite often the volume increases whilst pushing the zoom lever in playback mode on several camcorders.
