JVC GR-D93EK MiniDV Digital Camcorder - any good? or other sub £200 with AV-IN.

Hello all,

I am looking to buy a JVC GR-D93EK MiniDV Digital Camcorder, I know its a bit old now, but I can get them for around £175 brand new.

I am replacing my faulty TRV9E. I would prefer a Mini-DV, I`m impressed with the quality, but I have acouple of concerns / requirements.

Does the D93 suffer from motor noise? the reviews I have read seem to say not.

I NEED AV-IN, to record from my bulletcamera, i will also use it as a standalone camcorder for videoing family holidays etc, I dont need manual control of everything, my wife uses it mostly and just points and records.

I want a smallish camera, but thats not the main consideration. It HAS to be under £200 delivered. Not bothered if its last years model, do not need still photo facility, I use my FZ-5 for that.

Basically, i`m asking if thats a good buy, or if there are alternatives, what options I have in my low budget.

Nige.

Looks a good deal - here is a (US) review
http://www.camcorderinfo.com/content...der-review.htm

It has a 1/4" CCD (as opposed to the 1/6" typical for cams in that price range), which will help the quality, especially in low light.

I can't think of anything better at that price that has AV-in and DV-in...
