Standalone DV/HDV player?

As the title suggests do such things exist? i've been thinking of this as an easy solution instead of converting clips mad with the usual stuff. Really i am seeking an easier way of viewing my HDV clips from my HC3 without the hassle. I'd prefer not to use my HC3 as a player so a standalone would be great. Anyone know if they exist? ive googled it and not come up with much.

I think at the end of the year standalone HD/Blue Ray DVD Recorders will be launched so thats what I am waiting for , going to keep my HD clips safe on tape till then.

Problem is that these recorders when they appear will be astronomical in price and although its a good idea I think my only option is to purchase and use dv tapes and keep them safe for maybe a couple of years until such recorders are fairly affordable. Until then i'll use the cam itself as a playback device with a hdmi switch box.

What about a media centre pc? You can store the clips on the hard drive and have a nice big remote control userinterface for it....

If you like you can even put a few freeview tuners in it and have a hard disk recorder as well....And if you are lucky to live close enough to receive crystal palace you can even receive BBC HD, ITV HD and in July C5 HD broadcasts for free.....

Then when HD recorders come out for PC's, you replace the current normal DVD recorder and voila you have a HD Recoder....
