You want your project properties generally to match the media, so I assume this is PAL DV you captured, so you would set the project properties to "PAL DV Widescreen (720x576, 25.000 fps)".

If you want to render to NTSC MPEG2 for DVD, then render to file type MPEG-2, template "DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream". As you are rescaling (going from 720x576 to 720x480), you will get better results if you select the video rendering quality (in the "custom" screen) to "best).

As you may know, you also need to separatly render the audio.

cheers mark, i use REEL dvd for authoring so yeh will do the NTSC and the AC3 streams seperate. So to render in 16:9 i select widescreen and to render into 4:3 i use the normal dv setting is that correct?
cheers

Yes, that's right. For widescreen use the widescreen template, for 4:3 the one which doesn't say widescreen (e.g DVD Architect PAL video stream). These templates have the PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio) correctly set for widescreen (or 4:3).
