flashing symbol panasonic nv ds60 mini cam

can any of you folks help me i have a panasonic mini cam nv ds 60 my problem is whenever i try to switch it on i have a flashing red symbol on the screen every second after about 20 seconds the cam switches itself off it has been like this for months. any idea whats wrong with it and where can i take it to be repaired. kris
