JVC GZ_MC500 with Pinnacle 9. Help required

Hi everyone,I`m a new member and need the help of more experienced cam users. After a few years of using a Canon 500i to Pinnacle Studio 9 via a firewire I have aquired a JVC hard drive cam. The software supplied with it works but is not very good,(in my opinion)
Is it possible to capture footage to Pinnacle 9,if so could anyone tell me how,in simple step by step instructions.I would also appreciate prior warning of any other problems I may encounter from anyone who has experienced these products.
