I am looking to replace my camcorder, and was considering a Sony DCR HC22. According to Sony's website this is not a current model.

Does anybody know what model has superseded it, and what the differences are?

I'm struggling to find this out.

Oh - any alternative models I should consider for a budget of about £400would be apreciated.

DCR-HC35 is almost identical in spec to the HC22... both also have a docking station.

The only difference is the HC35 does not have an accessory shoe while the HC22 does. With the new models Sony was more mean with providing accessory shoes, you have to go all the way to the HC94 to get one.

Having looked at the new Sony range I think I'm going for the DCR-HC46. The Widescreen recording option makes it a bit more future proof IMO.
