transfering vhs camcorder tapes

i've got an old jvc compact vhs camcorder (model no.gr-ax 200) and i would like to transfer the tapes to dvd as i no longer have a video recorder.is there anyway to transfer the footage to pc for burning to dvd? if so what do i need? the connections on the camcorder are....edit, audio, rf dc out and video.
any help appreciated.

Well, firstly you need a tv card to capture the video onto the pc, look up hauppauge to get an idea of what cards they provide.

Once you've captured the video you need software which can edit as required then burn the footage to disk, there's lots of talk on this forum about software.

You could also probably just buy a dvd recorder and burn the stuff directly to disk, probably far easier and less trouble unless you enjoy the pc side of things

Unless you want to edit.. ..Even at that, you could still edit the resulting DVD footage by copying footage off your resulting DVD on your PC. It is rather more painless than trying various methods to digitise your analogue vhs-c stuff
As your starting material is digital (mpegs on the DVD) you dont have all the worries associated with editing digitally, material which was captured as analogue.
