Smile Windows Movie Maker & WMT.tmp files - HELP!

Does anyone know how to import a WMT.tmp file into Windows Movie Maker? I've been working on a project that apparently was only saved as a WMT file! I've been having a prob saving the video I'd edited. Every time I went back to carry on with the edit I have been clicking on the 'File' drop down list of most recent project files, which then opened up the project for editing ok.

Only now I realised that it didn't seem to be saving as a normal Windows Movie Maker file or .MSWMM file, but only a WMT.tmp text file!

As a possible indicator of probs, a pop up box kept popping up saying 'Windows - Virtual Memory Minimum Too Low', and was expanding to resolve the prob, on several occasions.

I tried to see if deleting some older WMM project files might help. With doing this though, I couldn't then find the project file I was editing, as it obviousy had dissappeared from the most recent project file list (from the 'File' drop down menu). Really don't think I deleted the project file itself.

I can see the WMT.tmp file (actually WMT1.tmp) in 'My Vidoes' folder, and it has my project title within it. But Windows Movie Maker will not recognise it or allow me to import it. It seems to have lost the shortcut link which it seemed to require to re-open it.

Any suggestions?? I really don't want to lose all the work I've put into this, and would really appreciate any help. Thanks.
