I have a sony hc1e connected to my mac and a 4:3 portable tv.

When I play back my DV anamorphic timeline my picture on the tv is full frame and vertically elonganted, I would much prefer to have a letterboxed anamorphic image on my tv.

I have the camera set to DV vcr mode and my tv type set to 4:3.

Does anybody have any ideas how to get letterboxed 16:9 out through the composite leads?

Does your TV have a 16:9 button or some way of manually changing the aspect ratio in the setup menus?

There is also an option on the HC1E to set the TV type to 4:3 or 16:9 (see page 57). This allows 16:9 replay to a 4:3 TV. Give that a go as well and let us konw how you get on.
