JVC GR-D290EK - input sources

Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a JVC GR-D290EK camcorder and have read that it has video input on it. I've also read elsewhere that you can get little cameras to attach to helmets that plug into the video input of the camcorder.

I do indoor climbing on a regular basis with my mates and would love to be able to attach a cam to a helmet while climbing and have the camcorder safely wrapped up in a bag on my back. Is there anywhere u can buy cheap little cameras that will plug into the video input on the JVC GR-D290EK. am i right in thinking its a component input (i.e. Video, Audio L and Audio R) - though I'm guessing its just the video input?

I have an old webcam that i wud happily hack up if i knew what to do.
Any ideas/help would be much appreciated. Even the proper terminology so i cud google it and search for them properly.

Yes indeed you can get small cameras that you can connect to your camcorder using composite (not component) connections - they are called "Bullet Cams" - if you Google for Bullet Cams you should get quite a selection to choose from - read their specs carefully because not all have sound - a large proportion are video only

A search for 'bullet cam' on this forum will also bring up a fair bit of info as this question gets asked from time to time.

Good luck,
Mark.
