LANC's

Ok i have bought a Sony HDR-HC1, just waiting on getting it delivered. Ive ordered some spare batteries, spare tapes, etc. I have my Manfrotto Tripod. All im missing is a LANC. Roy has talked about the Jessops Lanc, it is only £20 or £30. Where a Manfrotto can be £120-200. Is it worth it spending a bit more an getting the manfrotto LANC?

And does anyone understand this chart thing from the manfrotto site?

They all do the same job, it's just down to the mechanical build quality/ergonomics of the different models. That chart basically shows the different Manfrotto models (along the top) and which camcorders they will operate with.

I have the 522, and yes it is great and better than the Jessops one, the jessops one is really really great value for the money, just not as solid in use as the manfrotto, why not toddle into your local shop and try one on?
