Looking for a high quality microphone to use with my panasonic nvgs180 camcorder

I know where to find the microphones but does anyone have any ideas if they know which microphones are very decent to be used with the accessory shoes on top of the camcorder.

The Rode VideoMic is a fairly cheap but highly rated mic for mounting on a camcorder, as is the Sennheiser MKE300/MKE300D. A few details from users of these mics can be found with a quick search of the forum. You should find a few threads such as This.

Thanks mate. I was thinking about the rode. I mean they make wicked studio microphones so they certainly know how to make good mics.I would say at a guess and fro reading about them, people who bought them that they must be worth the £90 cos sony mics are w.a.n.k..
