Hi there! First post.
I'm somewhat new to the world of camcorders, and I'm trying to pick one up second hand/ebay for under £200, preferably closer to £150, hence the suggested value.
I wish to use the camcorder in the future to record outdoor and in for the likes of short films, music videos, live music and other documentation - hence video clarity/quality is of utmost importance.
2nd on the priority list is compatability with an outside microphone - having done a lot of audio work in the past 5 years at home, I'd be wanting to use some of my condensors - am I right in thinking that standard connection would just be a jack input? Is phantom power always provided or is this a luxury?
Other than that, I'd prefer a model which can be tripod mounted for steady shots and have a decent optical zoom, and an adequate battery. I'm not looking for fancy effects or gimmicks, just a good quality camera with the general requirements above checked - I'll be using software for any effects, editing etc so this is surplus.
Video in is not essential but would be useful for backing up footage to tapes.
Can anybody point me in the direction of a few models to check out?
Thanks
